Move a community to become a subcommunity of another community

Integrate what were diverse communities by moving a community to become a subcommunity of another community.

Procedure

  1. Open the community that you want to move.
  2. From the Overview page, select Community Actions > Move Community.
  3. Select Make this a subcommunity of: and type the name of the intended parent community. Select a community from the type-ahead list that displays and click Move.
  4. If required, confirm that you want to add the members or owners, click Move again. The community is now a subcommunity of the community you specified.
  5. If you change your mind later, you can make the subcommunity a top-level community:
    1. Open the subcommunity.
    2. From the Overview page, select Community Actions > Move Community
    3. Select Make this a top level community > Move.

Results

A subcommunity cannot be less restrictive than its parent. Therefore, when you move a community, the access level of the community that is being moved can be modified as shown in table 1.
